The Trust Rewards Program is a financial reward program for TMLT policyholders.
Funds are set aside annually for eligible policyholders in their Trust Rewards accounts. The funds accumulate and are distributed at the time of a qualifying event. Allocations to the program now total $205 million.
Funds are distributed to participating physicians upon retirement after age 50 and 3 years of coverage with TMLT; upon death; or upon a qualifying disability. In all other cases, including non-renewal of the coverage by TMLT, the funds will be forfeited. Payout is in the form of a lump sum.
The TMLT Board of Governors declares contributions annually.
All contributions are tax-deferred and quarterly statements are mailed to enrolled physicians.
TMLT’s dividend program returns a portion of paid premium back to policyholders. Since 2005, TMLT policyholders have received approximately $293 million in dividends.
Dividends are based on expiring premium and are applied to the renewal premium the year after they are declared. The dividend amount for 2018 is 10 percent.
RISK MANAGEMENT DISCOUNTS
Risk management discounts are available to TMLT policyholders who participate in our risk management programs.
TMLT policyholders who complete a qualifying 2-hour CME activity may be eligible for a 3% premium discount that will be applied to their next eligible policy period. Two courses can be taken for the discount, for up to 6% per policy term.
For new policyholders, a CME discount may be applied retroactively to the inception of the policy, if completed within the first 30 days of the policy’s effective date.
We offer online CME, Case Closed home-study programs, and a 2-hour CME course in the fourth quarter issue of our publication, the Reporter. You can also attend one of our seminars or a seminar that we co-sponsor with the Texas Medical Association.
Policyholders who complete a practice review may be eligible for a 5% premium discount after review recommendations are met. This discount continues through the expiration of the current policy plus two full policy periods.
For new policyholders, a practice review discount may be applied retroactively to the inception of the policy, if approved in advance and completed within the first 120 days of the policy’s effective date.
