CLAIM REPRESENTATIVE
This position, in the Claims Department, is responsible for the investigation and resolution of assigned medical malpractice claims brought against insured physicians within a prescribed geographical territory.
Team member holding this position should possess:
- ability to handle the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of liability claims, as well as the supervision of defense counsel on cases with five years minimum of progressively responsible experience in the property and casualty insurance field handling bodily injury claims (physicians’ liability experience preferred);
- availability for occasional travel, including overnight stays;
- strong analytical skills and effective oral and written communication skills, plus knowledge and
- understanding of basic professional liability insurance contracts, regulations, and litigation; and
Bachelor’s degree and Adjuster’s License required.
If the successful candidate does not possess an Adjuster’s License, they will be required to obtain the license within six months of employment.

CONTROLLER
This position, which reports to the Chief Financial Officer, devises and directs the financial accounting activities of all entities in the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- establish accounting procedures and reporting guidelines;
- ensure the integrity of all entities’ accounting and financial reporting;
- oversee financial reporting; and
- ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and coordination with external auditors, regulatory agencies, investment personnel, actuarial data, and tax filings.
The successful candidate will have eight to 10 years’ experience with management, accounting systems, and extensive financial reporting, with at least five years’ experience in a supervisory capacity. Must also be experienced in the preparation of NAIC annual statement and all related exhibits. Candidate must have experience in the medical professional liability field or other P&C lines.
Candidate must be a Certified Public Accountant; public accounting (audit) experience is a plus. Must also possess strong knowledge and experience with GAAP and statutory accounting knowledge and an expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Experience with statutory reporting software packages is a plus.

CORPORATE COUNSEL
This position assists TMLT's General Counsel in the operation of the company's Legal Department. Duties in this role support the General Counsel in providing general legal service to company officers, departments, and employees.
Individual holding this position should possess:
- excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- strong negotiation skills;
- ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- strict attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
- ability to work independently and part of a team;
- ability to handle a heavy workload;
- ability to perform duties with speed and a high degree of accuracy without immediate and constant supervision; and
- ability to work with frequent interruptions and handle multiple tasks.
Candidates are required to possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in Texas. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is also required. Zero to five years of legal experience, preferably in insurance or general corporate law, is preferred.
