Internship: IT Network Operations
As a Network Operations (NetOps) Intern with the Information Technology department, you will focus on developing the skills necessary for success by working with professionals on day-to-day job assignments. Our Summer Intern Program takes place from June 1 through August 7, 2026. While your assignments may vary over time as you gain experience and skills, interns will typically perform some of the work of an entry-level TMLT employee such as:
- diagnosing and resolving end user issues;
- password resets and account lockouts;
- email and Outlook support;
- software installation and updates;
- printer and peripheral troubleshooting;
- basic hardware issues (keyboards, monitors, docking stations); and
- willingness to learn new technologies
During this internship period, you’ll be part of a diverse, experienced team of people who work hard, enjoy what they do, and have strong relationships with each other. Together, you’ll work to meet goals central to TMLT’s mission and vision.
Qualifications:
As an intern, you must be working towards a bachelor’s degree (graduating in 2027, 2028 or 2029). In addition, the following criteria are highly recommended:
- effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
- ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner;
- ability to build and maintain effective relationships;
- effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions; and
- proficient in Microsoft Office applications
This position will work standard TMLT hours, Monday through Friday at the Austin, Texas location.
About the TMLT Internship Program
We are seeking qualified candidates for our Summer Intern Program, which takes place June 1 through Aug. 7, 2026. This program presents a hands-on learning experience in a supportive, mentoring environment that provides participants with a realistic look at the medical malpractice insurance industry.

Business Development Technician
This position, in the Underwriting & Business Development (UWBD) department, facilitates the front-end sales cycle of medical professional liability insurance new business accounts by preparing submissions from agencies and direct quote requests received from our websites.
In the role, the successful candidate will assist the department in performing a full range of clerical, organizational, and administrative functions requiring a high degree of speed and accuracy. Responsible for providing professional, high-quality customer service to TMLT/TMIC/LSA prospective policyholders.
Qualified applicants must be extremely detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and excellent with time management and meeting deadlines. Must perform all duties with a high degree of accuracy, operating independently without constant supervision. Should be comfortable in a highly dynamic environment. Must be hands on with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with an outstanding work ethic. A working knowledge of database and CRM utilization along with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and professionally via phone, email, in person, and be skilled in English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic. A minimum of one year experience in an administrative role in a professional business environment, or medical professional liability environment required.
High school graduation or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred. Some college and/or basic insurance courses preferred. Texas Department of Insurance General Lines Agent License required.
Incumbent meeting other selection criteria except possession of the General Lines License is required to obtain the General Lines License within a period of six months upon hiring.
Claim Representative
This position, in the Claims Department, is responsible for the investigation and resolution of assigned medical malpractice claims brought against insured physicians within a prescribed geographical territory.
Individual holding this position should possess:
- ability to handle the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of liability claims, as well as the supervision of defense counsel on cases with a potentially moderate to severe exposure;
- five years minimum of progressively responsible experience in the property and casualty insurance field handling bodily injury claims (physicians’ liability experience preferred);
- availability for occasional travel, including overnight stays;
- strong analytical skills and effective oral and written communication skills, plus knowledge and understanding of basic professional liability insurance contracts, regulations, and litigation; and
- Bachelor’s degree and Adjuster’s License required.
If the successful candidate does not possess an Adjuster’s License, they will be required to obtain the license within six months of employment.
To remain eligible for this position, employee must maintain an acceptable driving record (as determined by TMLT in its own discretion) and must notify TMLT upon being cited for any moving violation or other violation or condition that affects the employee’s ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
