We are sad to announce the death of Robert Irvin Parks Jr., MD, a former member and chair of TMLT’s Board of Trustees. He died on August 22, 2026.
Robert was born on October 21, 1945, in Silsbee, Texas. He attended Baylor University and graduated in 1968. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1972. Dr. Parks completed an internship at Baylor University Medical Center and his anesthesiology residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
After serving as a physician the United States Air Force, Dr.Parks returned to Dallas in 1977. During his 46-year career as an anesthesiologist, he practiced at Baylor University Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, and Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano. He retired in 2023.
Dr. Parks also served as president of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists and received its Distinguished Service Award. He also served as a board member and chair of the TMLT Board of Trustees, and as president of the medical staff at Baylor University Medical Center.
